The Mugello, to the north of Florence, is an area in the foothills of the Tosco-Emilian Apennines. It offers
countless paths for walks and for longer excursions on foot or on horseback. You can go from the valley floor to the ridges
of the Apennines following itineraries which take you to Medici villas, museums of country life, to Lake Bilancino where
you can swim and row, and to the international Mugello racetrack. Places of interest: Pratolino - Demidoff Park and Villa S.Piero a Pieve - San Martino Fortress, Trebbio Castle and the Bosco Monastery Barberino - Cafaggiolo Castle Scarperia - Palace of the Vicari Borgo San Lorenzo - Villino Chini, Villa Pecori Girali Vicchio - Giotto's house, Beato Angelico Museum Firenzuola - Pietra Serena Museum CHIANTI is a land rich in art and culture where human activity, in harmony with the landscape, has produced great vineyards, castles and art cities. An enchanted place where you can relax in the countryside - inspiration to so many poets - sample and learn the delights of Tuscan cooking, taste excellent wines, visit the splendid art cities of Florence and Siena. Amongst the many other places to visit are villages such as Panzano, Montefioralle, nearby Volpaia, Gaiole, Radda, Castellina, the San Michele nature park, Badia a Passignano, the Verrazzano castle and others, not far away, like Brolio and Lecchi. |
